Math problems have numbers. Kids have names. At Anastasis Academy, our educational model honors and supports children as the unique and creative individuals God designed them to be. Our inquiry-based approach takes into account your child’s individuality, including personality, learning style, strengths, interests and passions.

At Anastasis, every child has a name.

Our Students

Every learner IS UNIQUE, CAPABLE, CURIOUS, CREATIVE AND IN CONSTANT PROCESS OF PIECING TOGETHER HOW THE WORLD WORKS.

Our mission is to apprentice children in the art of learning through inquiry, creativity, critical thinking, discernment and wisdom. Our desire is to help kids live an abundant, unforgettable, honest, meaningful story - one clearly defined by faith, hope, and love and book-ended by redemption. We strive to provide an educational model that honors and supports children as the unique and creative individuals God designed them to be. We work to shape the development of the whole child by engaging the mind, body and spirit while inspiring each student to personal excellence.

Come and experience Anastasis for yourself. We look forward to meeting you!

Anastasis Academy is a school where we believe that we can do anything. This school is a safe place.

We are this amazing school where all ideas matter. We matter. We can learn where learn best and how we learn best. We are able to express ourselves. No uniform, no subjects. We are an inquiry based school. We ask questions. We study a topic. All subjects come up in inquiry and learning is real.

Our Curriculum

You can't guide children to where they need to go if you don't first meet them where they are.

Children develop at different rates and in ways that are unique to them. Just as children don’t all walk, talk, or lose their teeth at exactly the same time, we recognize that learning won’t always occur on the same day or in a predetermined manner. By meeting each of our students where they are at and allowing them to learn and develop at their own rate, we minimize the risk of gaps in learning. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, our teachers create learning experiences for the students based on learning style preferences, multiple intelligence strengths, developmental levels, interests and passions.

All of these factors need to be taken into consideration when designing a learning program. No boxed curriculum will ever be able to meet the unique cognitive, social-emotional, physical and creative developments of a child. The boxed curricula and siloed subjects that most schools utilize are simply too narrow in scope to address the needs of unique individuals. The Anastasis inquiry-based approach creates connections across disciplines, revealing the interconnected nature of learning and life.

The main thing I got out out of this year is critical thinking. Thinking for myself, not letting others put words into my mouth. I have always been a follower of others, I have never made choices for myself. Everything we have done this year has made me grow in every aspect academically, socially, spiritually. Critical thinking makes me ask more questions which this school is built of off. Thank you Anastasis student and teachers for giving me my own thoughts.

This year a learned a lot about math, science, reading, and writing but that’s not what stood out to me the most. The lessons I learned about life and the world will stick with me. One thing I learned a lot about is following education with action. Well we learned quite a bit about many many issues this year. Learning about them is only the first step. Action is the crucial one.

Our Team

AT ANASTASIS ACADEMY, WE ACCEPT THE GREAT RESPONSIBILITY OF RAISING
THE WHOLE-CHILD: MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT.

We strive as adult leaders to provide an atmosphere where students can learn how to live, moment by moment, in faith. Anastasis Academy began in 2011 as the bold idea of Kelly Tenkely. Kelly sought to create a new paradigm in education where children are challenged and encouraged as unique individuals to fall in love with the joy of learning.

I am completely blown away. I’m not sure what I expected, but any expectations I had, have been far exceeded.
